Burundi’s Swallows is set to lock horns with the Cameroonian Indomitable Lions today at the Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania in efforts to book a ticket to the African Cup Of Nations next year.
During the Press conference held this earlier this week in Tanzania, Burundi’s Intamba mu Rugamba’s head coach said that the team’s captain Saido Berahino will be on the starting lineup against the Indomitable Lions in a match that is slated for 15hrs Burundi local time.
“Burundian national team is not a small team, they have got fantastic players, verily Cameroon is a big footballing nation in Africa but Burundi is not small either,” said Mutima Constatin the Swallows’ coach.
One of Burundi’s ace Saido Ntibazonkiza vowed to the fans that they are very ready to take on Cameroon and invited them to attend massively and give support to the team for the encounter.
“We kindly request dear Tanzanians and Burundians who are here to come in big number and support our beloved national team, we are ready to put up a fight till the last minute,” said the Burundi talisman Saido Ntibazonkiza.
Burundi grabbed a point from Namibia during the 88th minute in a match held on 4th June this year in Johannesburg in South Africa, when Abdoul Karim Nizigiyimana aka Makenzi’s free kick that missed to be headed in by Frederic Nsabimana but found a well-placed Caleb Bimenyimana to strike into the top corner.
Burundi tops Group C with one point while Cameroon is yet to play a single game in the group as Kenya is under sanctions a team that was expected to play against the Indomitable Lions in their opening game, Cameroon are the favorite team in the Group C which is comprised of Burundi, Cameroon, Kenya and Namibia.
