Burundi’s Ageline launches Miss Burundi

Burundi’s First Lady Angeline Ndayishimiye on Tuesday 2, February 2021 officially launched the Miss Burundi Edition 2021 after years of suspension of the beauty pageant contest for almost four years.

In her opening remarks Burundi’s first lady called on organizers to be inclusive and not being biased in selecting the country’s next most beautiful lady, “I encourage all young ladies who match the criteria of Miss Burundi in terms of height, knowledge and understanding our beautiful culture to contest,” she said.

Among the criteria that will be taken under consideration for the selection of Miss Burundi 2021 includes having a High School diploma, Burundian national, aged between 18 and 25, single, fluent in Kirundi and French, weighs not more than 65kg and at least 1.65m tall.

The registration will be open from 2nd to 25th February 2021 and the selection of the 2021 Miss Burundi will be held on March 10th, 2021.

The 2021 Miss Burundi edition is sponsored by the Office of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development and Burundi Ministry of Tourism.
