Burundi Basketball Champions Dynamo qualified into the Basketball Africa League (BAL) last Sunday thanks to David kongor Deng’s both decisive free throws in a crucial moment to make history in Johannesburg.
On November 26, 2023, at Ellis Park Arena, Burundi’s Dynamo surfaced the winner with 79-78 win over Madagascar’s Club Omnisport de la Police National (COSPN) making history with a hard-earned victory in the four years BAL qualifiers.

“We came here ready to fight. We know what we had. Our fans have always been behind us and we are proud of them for supporting us. We knew that the game played on paper. Today we stood together. The main thing is what made us through was the togetherness among ourselves,” he added.
With a smile on his face, Dynamo’s Israel Otobo did not cease to repeat that they made history while congratulating his teammates.
