Uganda 2–0 Somalia
Uganda kept their Group G campaign on track with a confident 2-0 win over Somalia in Kira Town. Allan Okello opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the sixth minute before Jude Ssemugabi doubled the lead before halftime. The victory moves the Cranes level with Mozambique in second place, trailing leaders Algeria, who they face in October in a decisive clash.
Guinea 0–0 Algeria
In Casablanca, Algeria’s attack faltered as the Fennecs failed to score in a World Cup qualifier for the first time in 37 matches. Guinea goalkeeper Alexis Guendouz produced key saves, while Mohamed Amoura missed Algeria’s best chance. Despite the draw, Djamel Belmadi’s side remain top of Group G with 19 points.
Malawi 2–2 Liberia

Madagascar 3–1 Chad
Chad briefly threatened an upset when Yves Allarabaye fired them ahead in the first half, but Madagascar responded strongly after the break. Warren Caddy equalized with a volley, Rayan Raveloson’s header gave them the lead, and Hakim Abdallah sealed the win in stoppage time. The result lifts Madagascar alongside Ghana at the top of their group.
Guinea-Bissau 2–0 Djibouti
Guinea-Bissau revived their qualifying campaign with a solid second-half performance in Bissau. Iano Simão broke the deadlock with a powerful strike in the 54th minute, before Fali Candé’s late header secured the win. The Djurtus now sit four points behind Burkina Faso in Group A, with leaders Egypt set to face the Stallions on Tuesday in a potentially decisive encounter.
