Tanzanian singer Harmonize headlined the “Good Bye Summer Vibes” concert at Stade Ingoma on Saturday night, Aug. 22, in one of the East African star’s most high-profile Burundi appearances to date.
The concert, promoted by Arizona Bar and XS Club, had been advertised to begin at 2 p.m., with promotional material circulated in the lead-up by Burundian media and organizers.
Harmonize arrived in the country ahead of the show and held a sound check at the stadium, according to footage published from Gitega. Videos posted after the concert show him performing to a large crowd; social media coverage from Urban Spice TV described the stadium as erupting during the set.
The Gitega performance came a day after Harmonize appeared at a major music event in Ethiopia, where Tanzanian media reported a strong reception for songs including “Kainama” and “Single Again.”
The concert is part of a busy stretch for the singer as he prepares his sixth studio album, “31.” Tanzanian newspaper Mwanaspoti reported this month that the album — whose release has already been delayed once — is now scheduled for Sept. 4, 2026.
Harmonize has performed in Burundi before, including previous shows in Bujumbura, and has built a following in the country over several appearances.
Saturday’s concert also reflects a broader trend of major music events moving beyond Bujumbura, Burundi’s commercial capital. Stade Ingoma has hosted several concerts by Burundian and regional artists this month alone, underscoring Gitega’s growing profile as an entertainment venue.
No independently verified attendance figures were available at the time of publication, and organizers had not released ticket sales or revenue numbers.
