A 16 year old looks to ease business, services in East Africa

A 16 year old entrepreneur Ansh Sheth is setting up his legacy in East Africa through training the disadvantaged women on building chatbots for their local businesses.

Ansh who is a junior at Harker High School is now working with Women in Technology Uganda (WITU) for the easy accessibility of business and services through the evolving world of technology.

“Empowering disadvantaged women is one of my major goals and I want to spread this kind of work to the whole of East Africa,” said Ansh.

According to the 16 year old Ansh, he is focused in helping organizations and businesses, especially those in the emerging markets citing that where nearly everyone uses Whatsapp.

“Chatbots make it easy for organizations, government agencies and businesses to engage with and provide services to customers using messaging apps like Whatsapp. More than websites and apps, chatbots are well suited to the tech ecosystems in India, Africa, Southeast Asia, Lalam and the Mideast,” he said.

“I created WITU consulting services where some women took on sales of the Chatbots while others stepped into technical roles,” said Ansh.

Ansh started teaching the women remotely via zoom for nearly six months and got them started with the basics. He says that the follow up in person he visited Kampala during spring-break early in April.

“The women in the training program quickly learned the content and have become experts at building chatbots already. They can work individually or collectively to solve problems and figure out more advanced technology more important there is enough of a critical mass so that the experts can train the next set of beginners continuing the cycle repeatedly I believe that there is an emerging center of excellence in chatbot,” said Ansh.

E- government services is among the larger target for the entrepreneurs as countries in East Africa have for recently been struggling to meet the increased demand from their nationals.
