Aigle Noir Held by Flambeau du Centre as Primus Ligue Round Two Wraps Up

Defending champions Aigle Noir dropped points again on Sunday, held to a 1-1 draw by Flambeau du Centre at Stade Ingoma as the second round of the 2026-27 Primus Ligue Burundi season came to a close.

Ariel Koffi put Aigle Noir ahead in the seventh minute, and the champions carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. Omar Bigirimana leveled for Flambeau du Centre in the 70th minute, and neither side found a winner after that.

It was one of five draws across a round that began Wednesday and ran through the weekend.

Young Star FC and Kayanza United opened the round goalless at Stade Ingoma on Wednesday, and Musongati FC and Rukinzo FC played out the same scoreline at the same venue.

Never Give Up AC beat Inter Star 2-1 at Stade Urunani on Friday for one of only three wins recorded in the round.

Saturday brought another stalemate, with Panthère Noire FC and Bumamuru FC splitting the points 1-1 at Stade NPPC.

Sunday’s four fixtures produced two more draws and two wins. Olympic Star and Vision FC finished scoreless at Stade Umuco, and Flambeau du Centre’s draw with Aigle Noir closed out the day. Elsewhere, Vital’O FC beat Ngozi City 2-1 at Stade Urunani, and Messager Ngozi edged Muzinga FC 2-1 at Stade Urukundo.
