Burundi: More than 500 prisoners released under presidential amnesty

Atleast 558 prisoners with minor offenses were released in Burundi as part of President Evariste Ndayishimiye’s amnesty.

According to Burundi’s presidency (Ntare House) president Ndayishimiye addressed the prisoners in Rutana prison located in the south eastern part of the country where he called them to be law abiding citizens.

“For this new beginning, the Head of State urges them to be actors of good and development,” part of the X formerly Twitter reads from the country’s State House.
