Vital’O, Inter Stars share spoils in 1-1 capital derby

Vital’O FC and Inter Stars played to a 1-1 draw Sunday at Intwari Stadium in Bujumbura as the two sides opened their 2026-27 Burundi Primus League campaigns with a share of the points.

Vital’O took the lead in the 27th minute when Thierry Ndayishimiye found the back of the net, giving his side an early advantage in the capital derby.

Inter Stars responded before halftime, with Mamadou Harerimana equalizing in the 39th minute to send the teams into the break level at 1-1.

Neither side was able to find a decisive goal after the interval as the match ended with the score unchanged.

The result leaves both Vital’O and Inter Stars with one point from their opening league fixture as the new Primus League season gets underway.
